Antiqued Books for Beach Weddings

Image
Since my heart belongs to the sea (as does every mermaids!) I find nothing more beautiful, than a special event by the sea. The ocean, sand, and every treasure that comes from the deep blue sea are all a part of my soul. Therefore, I LOVE to create items that celebrate the sea. I’m so thrilled that my creations have often been a part of someones’ seaside wedding or special event.  ❤︎ Many people have used my Ship’s Log, Beach Lover’s Journal and The Sea Antiqued Journals as their wedding Guest Book. I’ve decided to start photographing them and sharing them with you! ❤︎ This is the smaller size Antiqued Journal (4-1/2"x6") that was used as a guest book for a Pirate Themed summer wedding ♥︎ I love just that theme! There are several different papers I like to use for the covers of my Ship’s Log, The Sea, Mermaid, and Beach Lover’s Antiqued Journals, and there are just too many of them to show all of them in my ETSY Shoppe listings, s...

New Papers for the Antiqued Spell Book

Image
It has been seven years since I created my lovelyAntiqued Spell Book, and I am finally out of the dozens of gorgeous antique red flower papers I’ve used for the cover all these years!  I am constantly looking out for more of that paper, but in the meantime, I have done endless research looking for some lovely new papers! - And here they are! Twilight in the Witch’s Garden For the photo in my ETSY shoppe I chose my favorite paper, which I named “Twilight in the Witche’s Garden”. It is a lovely pale blue color with tiny stars throughout and a hint of the wild plants and magickal herbs growing in every witch’s garden.  The back cover has a mysterious silhouette of a castle among the starry twilight sky.  Lavender Magic A beautiful lavender to violet tinted paper over a magickal flower garden among shimmery stars Haunted Medieval Castle A hauntingly eerie yet beautiful paper which is heavily antiqued and has th...

Full Moon Magick: April Moon

Image
The Pink Moon The April full moon is also called The Sprouting Grass Moon, The Seed Moon, and my favorite,The Pink Moon. This year, 2015, The Pink Moon occurs on Saturday, April 4, along with a partial eclipse! What a magickal event!  The April Pink Moon also has a partial eclipse this year! ☾ The Pink Moon in Spring represents new beginnings and fresh starts, so be brave and start a new project, change something in your life that isn’t working in your favor and get a fresh start, or just celebrate change. ☾ The Spring Pink Moon is a great time to plant magickal flowers and herbs in your garden such as moonflowers, sunflowers and lavender.  Spring lavender in my garden The Pink Moon this year is also on the same weekend as Easter Sunday, or, if you celebrate according to Mother Earth and the Goddesses, Ostara (aka Eostar or Eostre), The Goddess of Spring and the pagan celebration of spring and re-birth. ☾   For more moon lore, moon quotes...

Spring Magick in the Garden

Image
It’s Spring and magick is in the garden! Time for longer days and warm, light evenings that welcome fairies to come and visit your garden in the moonlight while you sleep. Here are a few lovely things blooming in my garden right now and the story of their magick! Apple Tree and Apple Tree Blossoms The Magickal Apple Tree is also known as The Witch Tree and the tree bark is often used to  make magick wands. A lovely blossom from my Apple Tree Apple Blossoms represent beauty and goodness. These are some lovely white blossoms from my apple tree. The "Apple of Discord" with the Greek words "To the Fairest" written on it. Of course, when speaking of the apple as a symbol of beauty, we must remember the“Apple of Discord” from the Greek myth “The Judgement of Paris”. As the story goes, Eris, the Goddess of Discord, was upset because she was not invited to a wedding party given by Zeus. To cause trouble, which is what she was best at, she th...

Fortune Teller Cards

Image
I often get asked how I came up with the idea to make my antiqued fortune teller cards, so I thought I would do a post on the story behind them.  The "Gypsy Handbook" for sale in my ETSY shoppe. I have always loved the romantic and mysterious idea of a wandering gypsy, so a few years back I started researching, writing and designing the “Gypsy Handbook” in my shoppe. Although truly a stereotype, I love the idea of a free-spirited gypsy traveling around the world in her caravan, using her mystical powers of clairvoyance to tell strangers’ fortunes for a living. Using her crystal ball and fortune telling cards she could change your life.  An "perfect" photo of a gypsy and her caravan. While I was researching images to use inside the Gypsy Handbook, I came across some really amazing vintage photos and illustrations, such as the ones I use for the “mystery message” fortune teller cards.  The images you see on the "Mystery Message...
