Please Stay In The Studio: An Artists Diary During A Pandemic ⭐︎ Day 7

After a long walk in the fresh air (6 feet away from everyone I encountered)
I'm back in the studio having a "Quarentini" and chocolate (always makes
me feel better!) and working on a tarot card order.

🌜✨

Another day, another day inside- except for a little fresh air by the sea while the rain is staying away. Much of Northern California, especially the Bay Area, has been given a shelter-in-place order, but here in Southern California we are still asked to just practice social distancing. I'm sure that won't last long! It was a cold but sunny day today so LOTS of people went for a run or walk in the cool air and bright sunshine, hopefully being mindful of keeping six feet apart. I know I stepped off the sidewalk many times to let others pass.

Here in my home studio I am finishing up a few orders. Sales of my Tarot Cards and Antiqued Books have slowed significantly since the coronavirus pandemic has begun, and I am feeling the financial strain like everyone else. But I am trying to think positively and use this time for some projects that have been swirling around in my head for years but I’ve never had time to work on. YAY! Stay tuned for later posts on my new projects,

Many artists listen to music while they work but that has never been my thing- I watch movies. But in this turbulent time of work-at-home-till-the-virus- goes-away, I have just decided to try an audio book. I LOVE to read, almost exclusively thrillers and mysteries, but have always been too distracted to concentrate on an audiobook (that overactive Aquarius mind!). That’s all changed now that I gave it a focused try. My book of choice… SOMEONE WE KNOW by Sheri Lapena. I read two other books by Lapena, The Couple Next Door and Stranger In The House, both of which I liked but didn’t love.  Happily, I did love this one! Actually I couldn’t wait to turn it on each day and I ended up walking farther (if I was out) and working longer (if I was in) when it was on. Lapena’s specialty is domestic thrillers, which I love, and this one kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I have to admit, I guessed the murderer before the end, but I loved it none the less and hope you will try reading or listening to it.

Now I am in search of the next audiobook to listen to while in the studio. Any suggestions?
